Family Child
Care Orientation

Course
Description:
This orientation is for anyone interested in
becoming a Family Child Care Provider or
Certified Assistant. It is required in order
to receive a license from the Department of
Early Education and Care (EEC). The Orientation
provides an overview on establishing a
successful family child care home. Topics to
be covered include: 1) the partnership
between EEC, Child Care Connection and
Providers; 2) the licensing process and
regulations; 3) the business of family child
care; 4) parent/provider communication, and
5) balancing work and family. You will
receive a Certificate of Attendance at the
end of the class, which is valid for one
year. Please choose one of the sessions
below. You must pre-register at least 5 days
before the session to guarantee a space.
Enrollment is first come/first serve. Doors
open 30 minutes before and close 15 minutes
after each session begins. If a session is
cancelled because of weather, it will
automatically be rescheduled on the snow
date listed. No refunds or credits are
available if you miss a session. If you can
cancel in advance, you may make a one time
transfer into another session.
